Artist Description
Becoming explores the moment a self begins to emerge from within its own inner landscape. A central figure rises from a field of vivid red, surrounded by energetic marks, grids, and textures that echo the noise, chaos, and possibility of transformation. The figure’s face is calm and grounded, yet illuminated by a soft halo of yellow and beige tones, suggesting awakening, awareness, or a shift into deeper consciousness.
At the crown, a pink, brain-like surface—an exposed inner world made visible. It symbolises thought, identity, and the rawness of growth. The teal patterned torso contrasts with the fiery background, anchoring the figure in stability while everything around it moves, cracks, and reforms.
The surrounding marks—white grids, black strokes, splashes of orange—create a sense of motion and disruption, as if the environment itself is reshaping in response to the figure’s evolution. The composition holds tension between vulnerability and emergence, inviting the viewer to witness the courage it takes to become more fully oneself.
