A New Chapter in My Journey: Beginning Level 2 Counselling Skills
Every so often, a moment arrives that feels like a quiet invitation—a nudge toward the next chapter. Starting a Level 2 Counselling Skills course has been one of those moments for me.
My work with The Healing Canvas has always been about more than art. It’s about connection, safety, and the courage to explore the inner world. Over time, I have found myself wanting to understand people’s emotional landscapes more deeply. I wanted to be able to sit with someone’s story—not to fix it, but to honour it with the kind of presence that counselling skills cultivate.
This course is teaching me how to listen in a different way. How to hear what’s said and unsaid. How to hold silence without rushing to fill it. How to create boundaries that feel like safety rather than restriction. It’s reshaping how I show up—not only as a facilitator, but as a human being.
I’m learning that counselling skills aren’t just techniques; they’re a way of being. They’re helping me refine the heart of my work: creating spaces where people feel seen, soothed, and supported as they reconnect with themselves.
This new chapter feels aligned, grounded, and full of possibility. I’m excited to weave what I’m learning into the experiences I create—so that every session, every card, every piece of guidance carries even more depth, care, and intention.
